Well it was blocking alright. Google says it's a ZoneAlarm product. What's your impression of it, Bill?

Not a fan of ZA in general, false sense of security products. I remember reviews where reviewer using ForceField got infected without a chirp in less then a minute visiting malicious sites. It does things others don't, so it's hard to find a direct replacement. Threatfire works great on XP. A Guy

Good idea to run an Avast boot scan (if you have 32 bit) and Malwarebytes on-demand scanner just to be sure infection isn't involved.

Were you killing Processes or Services? In the Task manager or services.msc?

Did you regain functionality after killing ForceField or did it require also killing Malwarebytes Processes? Did you have the Malwarebytes Real Time paid protection? I would almost bet against it causing this if killing Forcefield regained control.

Bill?

M'Lady, I hesitate to suggest MalwareBytes again, but I think ForceField was the issue. MalwareBytes is a great product, and of much more value IMHO. A Guy

I'd say scan with Avast, if comes back clean. Personally I'd install MalwareBytes again, and scan with that as well. If all is ok, just leave ForceField off and surf happy again

Greg... YES .....Once I was able to kill Forcefield.. that began to work...
I could tell my mouse pointer was normal again.. from there I kept hunting ANYTHING WITH THAT NAME .. KILLED THEM ONE BY ONE.
A Guy do you have the correct link to the program you mention d for me to use ..
Should I go back and get MalwareBytes to use as well ?

I would go ahead and use MalwareBytes again. ForceField was trying to block it apparently. Here is addres for Threatfire if you are interested. It's perhaps not necessary, but have a read.
