0x80041003 Error(s) (Tried fresh install + hardware scans)

So, I'm pulling out my hair.

    I kept getting a TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" error

I tried all suggestions I could find, Driver(s), VBScripts, and everything else and the most that happened was that Windows stopped logging those errors, but the system never stopped to hang.

I thought it might be a hardware issue, so I ran scans, and everything passed, even a bios level scan of hardware; and Windows ran fine in Safe mode so that made me think it was a software issue.

I reformatted + installed a different edition of Windows that work gave me (I had Win 7 pro x64, and got Enterprise x64 from work)... everything was fine for 48 hours and my computer JUST locked up again...

Any ideas at all? Im desperate!

Here is the full error log:
Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

I'm not sure if relevant but, my specs are:
    HP a6403w
    4GB of Ram
    Core2Duo E8400
    Windows 7 Enterprise x64 (w/ SP1)
    Radeon HD 6450

    Hi -

That Event Viewer entry is benign and was 1st sighted when Vista SP1 came out in 2008 - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950375

    ... and resurfaced after Windows 7 SP1 - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2545227

Are you experiencing any system performance issues?

If the only issue here are seemingly foreign items in the Event Viewer logs, you will drive yourself insane trying to figure them all out.

My advice is to read the KB, apply the "FIX" via the Fix it for me and enjoy Windows 7!

Just saw your last post; no dump files, unfortunately -

System freezing is usually a sign of hardware failure, especially in this case where 2 different OS' were installed on the same system and both froze.

    Check temps - run Speccy - Download Speccy 1.14.288 - FileHippo.com
    - "File" | "Publish Snapshot" | Paste URL into your next post

Also, see if Driver Verifier flags any 3rd party drivers -

    Here's the snapshot
    http://speccy.piriform.com/results/P...lBhE30J5BE7DR1

If it was hardware failure, wouldn't it also fail in safe mode? it also has that everytime it locks up, I check the event viewer and that error occurs at the time when the computer locked up...

I also tried SFC /Scannnow and everything was fine...

Attached is the Perfmon report and the zip file I posted earlier should have everything from the BSOD Dump + collection app...if not, I can do it again.

Download report.html from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

The files you provided were fine, but all they show is sudden system shutdowns, which I would expect given freezing & forced shutdowns.

3rd party drivers do not load in safemode (except networking if so chosen). The load on the system in safemode is no where near that of normal Windows boot.

Run Driver Verifier - see if it flags any 3rd party drivers.

Just curious - You have a NVIDIA chipset, but an AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6450 video card. Why ATI? ATI & NVIDIA don't always play nicely together. Please note that at this time there is no evidence to suggest this is a problem. However, NVIDIA video is much more stable than ATI.

Here's my thinking with it all, tell me if this is flawed in any of the steps...

If it was JUST a hardware issue there wouldn't be a corresponding error that's consistent that's logged in the software. It would just freeze or stall when a load was put onto whatever component and there would be a reasonable trail.

In regards to the ATI choice, I originally bought the ATI for DXVA, but am now using MadVR which actually has Cuda support and no DXVA support.. so... haha My old Radeon died, so I bought a new one w/o investigating other options.

I'm going to put the driver verifier on now, and restart and let the computer do what it does while im at work and see what kind of results I have when I get home.

If Driver Verifier flags a 3rd party driver, it will BSOD your system. That's what we're waiting for.

Otherwise, unknown hardware failure is the cause.

any suggestions for hardware scans to help narrow it down if that is the case?
