continuous bsod crashes

during the Christmas week, i encountered a bsod while playing the online game League of Legends. at the time i dusted it off thinking it was an error on my part, until it kept recurring. before it happened once a day now my laptop keeps crashing more than 4 times a day. the crashes always happen if i either play a game or watching a video online. i downloaded blue screen view and found that ntoskrnl.exe was the culprit of the crashes but i found no way to fix it. the only notable change i did to this laptop was update a network driver. also due to a error on my part aswell during a registry cleaning i accidentally removed the restore points some of the dump files. but i remembered that those dump files reported that ntoskrnl.exe was the culprit aswell.

it is a Sony vaio E series laptop i got a year ago

Windows 7 64 bit
was the original os i had
OEM
the age of the hardware i would presume is a year old
the os should be the same age as well

any help and solutions would be greatly appreciated

I have had that issue, as well. You can update SFEP.sys by using Sony® Firmware Extension Parser Device Driver to download it from a newer model. I know it is not your model, but I have a VAIO as well, and this is how I fixed my issue. Make sure you create a system restore point before installing that driver in case it does not work (although I am almost certain it will fix your Verifier issue).

Continuous BSOD after hard shutdown
Hi all, Probably very dumb on my part, but I did a hard shutdown after a hang-up after waking up my computer. I normally wait and then do a restart since my computer is sometimes very slow after waking. I now get a continuous BSOD, cannot get access to Safe Mode (only Setup and Diagnostics which...

Continuous software crashes, unsure of the cause.
Hi all, I recently built a new desktop and it seems to be haunting me. I was first riddled with BSODs that seem to be under control for now. I have a post here about those already. Now though, after everything being seemingly fine, I'm having some issues with 2 or 3 pieces of software that I...

Continuous BSOD after login
Hello, I'm having a little problem with the bsod. Everytime I start the computer in the normal way I get a bsod about 1-2 seconds after the desktop appears (after I log in) and the system crashes. When I then start the computer in the safe mode it does not instantly give me another bsod, but...

Continuous BSOD
I've been getting them off and on for about a month, but they just started doing it every 15-20 minutes the past few days. I thought it was just overheating (maybe alot of animal hair/dust in the fan intake and exhaust) but it does not do it while I'm playing games (mostly Fallout 3). I've tried...

Continuous BSOD
I'm having some problems...for awhile now I've been having random BSODs. Seems like it's been happening much more frequently as of late. The computer almost seems to get sluggish, some quirky things happen (taskbars disappear) and then it just locks up and BSODs. So far the only 2 diagnostics...
