    Hi.

Update the software\driver for your Intel Ethernet.

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/

    Remove Avg from your system.

Download, install and use Microsoft Security Essentials with windows firewall enable.
    Run full system scan.

    This software\driver SMARTVHidMiniVistaAmd64.sys is old from 2008.

We dont have too much information about it.

    Searching i found this http://systemexplorer.net/filereviews.php?fid=3668009

If you install it and you know what is that, remove it for testing purposes.

If you dont know i suggest for now that you disable the SMARTVHidMiniVistaAmd64.sys driver.

Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers and rename it by changing the .sys extension to something else like .old. Be aware this will also "break" the software that uses this driver.

    SMARTVHidMiniVistaAmd64.sys to SMARTVHidMiniVistaAmd64.old

    Finish
    and post back.

Thanks for replying so quickly and with plenty of help!
I followed the instructions you gave and checked for an update for my SMART driver - a program I use at work (Im a teacher). The SMART driver is the most up to date but I disabled it as I cannot use this PC at work (for obvious reasons when looking at the Fractal case)! Is it a necessity to change the file type to .old?
    Thanks again for the help!

If you updated the specific program then dont change the driver to .old

Work\play as usual, give it time,1-2 days maybe and post back with news.

Also can you please write here some info using details for this driver SMARTVHidMiniVistaAmd64.sys?

Which is the name of the program? Which is the usage of the program?

Which website you use to update it?

This way you help us to help more and other people.

    Thanks! :)

Hi, sorry for the delayed reply.

Will use my pc for the next couple of days and see if I have any problems.

    Details for SMARTVHidMiniVistaAmd64.sys

Program - SMART Notebook version 10
    Company - SMART Technologies ULC
    Website - http://www.smarttech.com
    Update - http://smarttech.com/us/Support/Browse+Support/Download+Software
Use - Program for creating and delivering interactive lessons. The software enables you to bring images, themes, videos and Flash objects, either from the SMART Notebook Gallery or your own files. I use the program in conjunction with a SMART Board interactive whiteboard. Many of the schools I have worked in have worked in have used this. The driver is most likely for the interactive whiteboard - connected by usb 2.0 for interaction and vga for visual.

Will update you in a couple of days!
    Thanks again

Thankyou for all of your help,
since we last spoke I have had no BSOD and it seems to have averted the problem.
Touch wood this does not happen again!
I have also installed filehippo to update programs - thought I should include this as it has helped me thoroughly.
    Thanks again!
