After installing windows ultimate 64 bit on my new computer (first one i've ever built!) it had around 115 updates to do.

Trying to do these all at once just had it stuck on 0% downloading, so I started doing them 10 or so at a time which was fine until one point.

I think I must've installed another update from AMD (gfx card drivers) at the same time, and it didn't like it - whenever I restart I BSOD just after/while configuring updates happens (before the login bit)

Thought ah well, booted in safe mode, said 'reverting update changes' and restarted - SAME PROBLEM UPON REBOOT?!

Now i'm trying safe mode again and it's just stuck on 'Please Wait' with the windows loading circle going round and round (Again the bit that usually configures updates just before logging in)

Quite stuck...my DVD drive is decrepit and took ages to get my install to work in the first place

Any quick ideas?
