I just clicked on the "Intel® Processor Graphics 3000" link posted on the Intel utility scan report. It brought me to a page where I found

Available Downloads (Which file should I download?)
File name: winxp_14469.exe
Version:14.46.9.5394
Download Date:11/24/2011 Status:Latest
Size:22.39 MB Language:Multi language
Operating Systems:Windows XP *, Windows XP Home Edition*, Windows XP Media Center Edition*, Windows XP Professional*

Here's the ReadMe: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/20778/eng/readme.txt

and the Release Note: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/2077...fx_5394_32.pdf

I have downloaded it, but not installed it. Should I?

Is this what you mean? From dxdiag.exe?

I can be fairly responsive all day, so any suggestions I can try within an hour.

Thanks!

Click on the "Quick Links" menu at the top of this web page. Click on "Edit Your Details" on the left side. Click on "Edit System Spec" on the left side. Now you can enter detailed information, such as make and model of your pc, etc.

Thanks!

OK, sorry, I had to go to a meeting but it's updated now. I ran Speccy and filled in what I could.

Should I go ahead and install that graphics driver I downloaded?

I haven't had a problem since I had that random shutdown this morning.

That shutdown did not have a BSOD but it did have an event 43 task 62 kernel thing.

Is that something known I can do something about or do you think that's related.

Well, so far so good. No BSOD or random shut down today and I used the machine all day. I did NOT install that graphics driver I downloaded from Intel this morning. But I did install the one I downloaded using the Toshiba website last night. This morning, after the random shut down, I did a Windows Update and then a Toshiba Service Station update. So, maybe things are good. I'll wait a few days to see. So far, since I got this thing two weeks ago it BSODed or random shut about 5 times a day. If it doesn't do it all over the course of a few days I'm diagnosing it cured.
