BSOD on Shutdown, Restart, Sleep, Hibernate; 0x0000001E

Hello knowledgeable forum people, I am hoping for some help.

My computer crashes on shutdown, restart and I suspect hibernate (I think that is what causes them while it sits idle). It was more broken yesterday than it is now, as I have seemingly solved some of the problems. I have included some history below, just in case it's useful.

    --- HISTORY ---

I got back from a trip (4 month exchange) and installed 26 windows updates. only KB2607576 failed, then it worked when windows tried again. When I opened Windows after that, my NIC card and several USB drivers weren't working (code 10 I think... certain .dlls didn't load). I had to disable/reenable each device/usb one in order to get them working. Occasionally the system would hang while I did this, usually on the last USB - forcing a manual power off.

I eventually rolled back to a restore solved before I left for my exchange and; updated my BIOS, chipset and USB to the latest from the manu's site. I figure windows installed the new USB 3.0 drivers (Renases USB 3.0 Host Controller/Root Hub) without any regard to my chipset/bios version and this somehow caused the problem - though I have no evidence and little experience in this area.

Windows was also telling me Skype wasn't working, though it appeared to be working fine (it gave mo the fix a problem with... dialogue). I have re-installed Skype since.

Now everything seems to be working (NIC, USB, etc.), except for the crashes. When it crashes, I see a BSOD. A BSOD was happening earlier while the NIC/USB were acting up also, but there appear to be no logs for those. These are in fact the only logs I have, and this has happened several times. Perhaps these logs persist because my last startup/shutdown was done in safe mode? Maybe the SSD has something to do with the vanishing logs?

    Halp?

    Thanks in advance

P.S. I can re-do the extractor utility if need be: (1) I don't have permissions to access dump files (I copied, pasted, then moved the latest one back in) and (2) I had to create a C:/My Documents folder just to follow the instructions.

Easy, these were virtually all caused by yoour AppleCharger.sys

Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\AppleCharger.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for AppleCharger.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for AppleCharger.sys
    Probably caused by : AppleCharger.sys ( AppleCharger+270c )

I would remove it at least to test.

    Thank you!

How do I remove a sys file? Can I just disable the driver in admin>>services?

    Okay, nevermind.

To remove "applecharger.sys" (a.k.a. GIGABYTE ONOFF Charger) go to this page (http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/utility.aspx), D/L installer, run intaller, choose uninstall.

Thanks a Million - now my comptr can install updates!!

Glad it was this easy. Frankly USB will charge most devices natively.

    Good luck

It's actually meant to allow your USB ports to charge your device while comptr is off... but apparently it's not so much with the working.

    FYI: GIGABYTE ON/OFF Charge

    Thanks Again!
