My system has been running well. No BSODs or other issues to speak of. Since I haven't had any issues since I made this thread, should I go ahead and mark it as solved? Thanks again for your help!

I had a similar situation with a PC I tried building a few years ago, a Core2Duo desktop with an ATI X600 video card.

After some research back then, the issue seemed to be with the video card. Even though nothing suggested ATI cards (or the Catalyst suite) should cause instability, they seemed to do a lot of that for me.

What are the basic hardware specs on your system?

Should be safe to mark the thread solved. Glad it has been stable.

Hey aeris,
Thanks for responding. I was also thinking my problems could be due to my video card or associated drivers. I am planning on running driver verifier as recommended by writhziden.
My hardware specs are in my profile.
Thanks again!

Hello, I've got a machine that I think the only issue preventing stability are the BIOS settings. The machine will not run Prime95 without errors, and as soon as I bumped the voltage to the CPU it seemed to be more stable. I haven't really had BSOD's to analyze. I've got several logs from...

Persistent cold boot issues
Hi I've had my new Windows 7 (Home Premium 64bit, OEM, registered and activated) PC since August, and, without fail, I get a BSOD just after the red ball stops moving on the Windows 7 startup screen. I've not dared to try flashing the BIOS yet, but have (afaik) all the latest drivers for the...

When did stability become an issue with operating systems? Was it around the time dial up modems were used as Windows monitor stands? Surely such a stack was not as stable as when people used to put monitors on top of thick telephone directories. Was it when combinations of operating systems and...
