Windows 7: Windows 7 is crashing..no BSOD

Well, the problems have started all over again.

Everything runs fine in Safe Mode but when I switch over to "regular" mode it all falls apart.

Here is exactly what is happening. No matter what application I click on (Thunderbird, Chrome, Firefox, Word, etc) the same thing happens every time. The program will either not open at all or it will open and then hang (I get the spinning blue circle) I can't ctrl-alt-del or anything so I have to push the power button to turn off.

I wonder if I need to completely start all over. The trouble is, my computer was preloaded with Windows 7, MS Office, etc and I don't have any of those discs. I don't know what to do.

Thanks for any advice. I am a loss and more importantly, losing valuable time messing with this computer.
