You can download the ISO and burn it to disc from here: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x86
okay awesome, got everything backed up, wiped it clean and installed the new OS and everything is working fine. BUT! when i go into my system properties, it is saying that i only have 2 gigs of ram, when i have 4 gigs (two 2gb sticks) Im running 64bit so idk why its only showing 1 stick. I recheked that they are installed properly and they are.
Do you have any devices in Device Manager with an exclamation point next to them? Have you installed your chipset drivers? If you fill in your system specs, it would be easier to help; System Info - See Your System Specs is a good guide for filling them in.
Yes i do, next to a device that looks like a router but its titled the name of my computer. I dont know what chipset drivers are so probably not. And i tried to download that but i get ".NET framework initialization error" when attempting to run it
You will need Download: Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (Web Installer) - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details to run it.
awesome, thank you
So my specs are filled out. What are the chipset drivers and is there anything i need to do about the exclamation mark?
GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 775 - GA-G41M-ES2H (rev. 1.3) -> Downloads -> Driver -> Windows 7 64bit -> Chipset -> Intel INF installation 9.1.2.1007 1.19 MB 2010/04/29
That may resolve the exclamation mark, as well. If not, follow the https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html and we can see what problem device is showing up and help you find the driver.
Im about to install the drivers right now, but i just figured out that its one of the slots on my motherboard that is not working, both sticks of RAM work individually on a certain slot, but on the other one the comp turns on and shuts off repeatedly. Does that sound like a permanent issue or is it something a driver could fix?
