Alright, use Advanced Boot Options and select Last Known Good Configuration (advanced).
If that does not work, use Advanced Boot Options and select Repair Your Computer to get to System Recovery Options and start the command prompt. Then run through the steps in Startup Repair Infinite Loop Recovery, and see if you are able to boot into Windows after completing the steps.

ok tried 2 diff. restore points and some other options on that list, nothing worked... back to square 1 >.< ugh....
well I have some good news! I'm up and running again for nowlol I went through and restarted with taking out random parts, turns out it works fine without my sound card (which kinda sucks cause now I can only use 2 out of my 4 speakers >.<). lol as I mentioned a few posts ago the hardware thing is probly 1 of the first things I should have done. I do want to thank you for your assistance and help with those tools, can never have too big of an arsenal of fix it tools
Glad you got it working. It may be that the sound card drivers were corrupted. You could try replacing the soundcard and re-installing the drivers through Device Manager (uninstall in Safe Mode, install in normal mode).
- Click Start Menu
- Right Click My Computer/Computer
- Click Manage
- Click Device Manager from the list on the left
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers
- Right click the sound card
- Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
- Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK
- Restart your computer
- Install the latest driver for the sound card once Windows starts.
Alternatively:
- Login as an adminstrative user.
- Click Start Menu
- Click Control Panel
- Click Hardware and Sound
- Click Device Manager (the last link under Devices and Printers)
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers
- Right click the sound card
- Click Uninstall (do not click OK in the dialog box that pops up after hitting Uninstall)
- Put a tick in Delete driver software for this device (if this option is available, otherwise just hit OK) and hit OK
- Restart your computer
- Install the latest driver for the sound card once Windows starts.
ok, so should I delete all my audio drivers? for some reason i have 4 nvidia "locations" and a high definition audio device, which I'm pretty sure is just my onboard... the card that i had in there is 11 years old (it seems to be the only card that picks up the 2 rear speakers for some reason other than it's the card that the speakers came with... lol I'd think some of the new updated cards would be able to pick it all up...after searching for a while I can't find any new drivers for this sound card (sound blaster live! CT4870), the newest I've found is the XP professional x64 driver for it... this it could work?

You are welcome to try the steps in Driver Install - Device Manager before you decide to scrap the card for good. Maybe Windows 7 can provide the updates.
