BSOD almost every time I boot my machine

    Hello,

I usually have to boot my machine twice. I boot the first time, log into my (domain) account, and once windows loads, I get a BSOD. After that, if I reboot, the system works all day.

This happens if I'm bringing it out of sleep or hibernate too, but it has to be inactive for a few hours for it to give a BSOD.

    I am running a Dell Latitude D620.
Windows 7 Pro 32 bit (fully licensed)
    4 GB RAM
    Intel T2500 2.00 GHz processor
    Joined to a domain

Attached is the BSOD reports requested.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

    calskin,
Your crash was related to nvlddmkm.sys nVidia Display Driver.
Suggest you update to the newest one asap.
    Yours is dated 11/16/2007.

Report back with the results after testing please.

Is driver scanner legit? Or was that an automatic ad placement?

I've tried updating my driver a few times now, but I'm getting an error saying "the nvidia setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible..."

I'm thinking this is because of upgrading to Windows 7, and I'm not sure how to work around this issue.

Anyone know what I can do?

Can you provide your system specs for this computer? It would really help those of us looking for solutions to know where to look.

Edit: Nevermind, I found your model. I'll see what I can find for the graphics card.

In the meantime, you may try the steps for installing an XP driver and updating through Windows 7 using the steps in Driver Install - Device Manager or install with Vista Compatibility: Drivers - Install Vista Drivers on Windows 7

Edit2: You will probably have to install with Vista Compatibility and see if that works. Unfortunately, laptop graphics cards are not supported by the card manufacturer but by the laptop manufacturer. The laptop companies work with the graphics card companies to provide support for power settings specific to the laptop the card is on. That is why the newer drivers are not compatible with your system.

I've tried to install this driver using this method, but I get a window that pops up saying Windows has determined that the most current driver is already installed.

I can't find a Vista driver on the dell website either.

I'm not really sure what I should do now...

    This worked. Thank you!

The link was to a x64 driver, but I was able to get the x86 version and download it.

The driver installed, so I guess I'll see if I get any more BSODs.

Oh yeah, sorry, forgot you were running a 32-bit machine. Glad you were able to sort it out. See how the stability is from here on.
