You can also copy paste any important file in your external hd.
Clunking noise in hard disk = 90% the hard disk is dying.
Remove the one hard disk and check if you hear the clanking,then do the same with the other.
We want to find the damaged hard disk.
You can run also the
Disk Check
A) Check the
Automatically fix file system errors box. (See screenshot below step
B) Check the
Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors box.
Have in mind that,Disk Check attempt to Fix Errors and Recover Bad Sectors.
It doesnt repair damaged\dying hardware.
