I decided to reinstall Win 7 because it just seems like such a hassle getting all these drivers squared away. AsIO.sys is the one I just cannot find a new copy of. I plan on updating all drivers all the same. Any suggestions you guys might offer for a clean reinstall?
And BTW, thanks for your previous efforts.

Format the drive and win 7 will find the most current drivers but as always backup you data.

    Wise man,
This will probably be the neatest & possibly the quickest way to get your computer up & working again...
    Good luck!

Is there an advantage to format the drive during install of Win7? I did not do that and now I'm wondering if I should have.

As mentioned /recommended in zigzag's Post 22 it is good idea.
By formatting you get rid of the "crap."

So I reinstalled Win7 with the format drive option. I updated all the drivers I could find. Two days later the system crashes on me. I attached the required files. Hopefully with a clean install it will be easier to pinpoint the problem.
    Thanks in advance.

    > Asacpi.sys must be done again after your reinstall. Refer Post 9.

    > I note you have AVG.

As JMH so eloquently stated the problems you had were re-installed when you used the CD that came with the computer.

AVG is directly blamed in this newest.

Ok. Uninstalled AVG. I found a newer nvm62x32 I cannot find a newer nvmpu401.sys (4/13/2005). Any ideas on where I might be able to find it? The NVidia web site doesn't return a search and I can't identify the driver other than it's something for audio.

Nvmpu401.sys with description NVIDIA® nForce(TM) MPU401 Driver is a driver file from company NVIDIA Corporation belonging to product NVIDIA nForce(TM) Audio Driver.

Look on your Asus motherboard support site or ask Cyberpower.
