I have now had the PC on for several hours and the SSD is still there and I can access it.

I hope this have solved the issue permanently :3 I'll keep it like this for a couple of days and see what happens.

Thanks. A lot. =) I'll leave another reply in a couple of days =)

Oh and is there a reason I should plug the SSD back into it's original cables or can I leave it as it is? The cables look almost identical and seem to fit. But is the connection the same? Hz etc.

So you have now lost the SSD in both configurations, correct? Whether it is as is now, or swapped with the HDD, the SSD tends to be lost by the system? If so, I would start by contacting the SSD manufacturer, Corsair. See what troubleshooting steps they can offer. If the problem continues after that, contact Asus and see what they recommend.

Okay. Then i'd like to thank you for your help. Honestly, you've been extremely helpful and polite :).

Thanks! Considering there's nothing more you can do for me. Should I mark this as "solved"?.

    You are very welcome. :)

You can either mark the thread as solved now, or you can wait until you've spoken with both companies and update us if/when you find a solution. We would appreciate an update if/when you find a solution in case other users have similar problems.

Update: The issue is still unsolved.

However. I've had my SSD unplugged for a day now and I'm running with my HDD and my external drive. I'm starting to believe that the issue was never my SSD, but my Motherboard.

Reason? This evening I tried booting my PC and got stuck at the motherboard logo screen where it says "Please press DEL to enter the EFI BIOS setting" and I tried to press del. Several times. Without result. It was as if it was frozen. I waited a couple of minutes until BIOS loaded itself.

Once I logged on to windows I couldn't access or find my external drive. It was as if it wasn't plugged in, even though it was. So instantly I changed USB port, which didn't help. Nothing changed.
I tried hooking up the external drive to my brothers PC and at instant it discovered it and I could access it.

I tried rebooting my PC as well hoping that would solve the issue but instead I got right back to the asus MoBo logo screen and had to wait. Once I logged on, it didn't work.

Lastly I tried plugging it in to my USB on top of the case which did work. For now at least.

This sounds a lot like my SSD problem if it continues, which would mean that either my SSD and HDD are broke or that there's something else causing it.

I was about to send my SSD back tomorrow but perhaps I should hold off incase it's the MoBo not working properly and my SSD actually works fine.

Could I perhaps plug in my SSD to my brothers computer to see if it's working for him or does the SSD require a certain MoBo?

In addition, my HDD have become EXTREMELY slow just now.

The SSD just requires that the connector to use it is in the machine it is being used on. As long as the connectors exist, you should not have a problem booting from it. Your problem may well be motherboard related since resetting BIOS hardware and software worked for a time and then it went back to the same issues. I would contact your motherboard manufacturer and see if you can get an RMA.

Did the SSD work in your brother's computer?

There are a few things that may be necessary for the SSD to function properly in another computer, so post back if you have questions regarding it. If you have already sent it back, then no worries.

The SSD did work in my brothers computer. I'm about to send it in for a control next week.

However, what I do not understand is this: I've tried replacing the sata cables as well as switched output on the MoBo. The HDD NEVER disappears. The SSD is there everytime I cut the power and turn the PC on, but after a restart it's gone. Can't be found in my BIOS or in windows.

It's working flawlessly on my brothers computer. As I said I tried switching sata outputs too.

I don't get it? How can it work in my brothers PC. But in mine it disappears, and I've tried both new cables and outputs as well as the output / cable where I had my HDD in. Which never disappears.

All I can think of is software..?

If it works fine in another machine, it probably is not the drive at fault. I am inclined to wonder about the motherboard/BIOS having an issue. Have you contacted ASUS?

Also, have you tried flashing the BIOS with the latest version a second time? Sometimes a second flash will resolve these issues.
