Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download can be run in Windows to find trojans.

If you do not want to start Windows and keep that Trojan running, there are bootable virus CDs. Free Bootable AntiVirus Rescue CDs Download List
I suggest either bootable f-secure (although it is a little tough to setup the latest definitions) or bootable Bitdefender (this can get the latest definitions online and has a nice interface).
F-Secure Rescue CD
BitDefender Rescue CD

There is also the simplest method via a USB flash drive Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper Beta | Microsoft Connect

They may delete if Windows is not running. That is one of the reasons the rescue CDs were made. Also, if you want further advice on security, we have a forum for these types of problems with members who have more experience than I do. You can start a thread in System Security and ask for the expertise in that forum.

Believe it or not, the security gurus often come to that conclusion and suggest using the clean all command through Diskpart (see Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command) and then doing a clean install of Windows 7.

That is great news. Glad it was not due to the virus. Those can be a mess to clean up. Thanks for posting back the solution.
