Windows 7: pc froze and now running good after chkdsk

That is probably because some data is stored in bad sectors. I do not know if that diagnostic utility does the same thing as disk check's recovery of bad sectors, so I do not know how much data you might lose. Unfortunately, there is not much else you can do at this point unless Windows' disk check is able to recover the bad sectors. Run Disk Check with both boxes checked and see if Windows can recover the sectors. You may have to run it more than once to fix all disk errors.

well today i scanned for and attempted recovery of bad sectors

you think all is well?
the drive is 2 years old but i just bought it when i brought my pc
i tell you it sounds completely normal

Does the diagnostic utility still say there are errors with the disk after Windows said there were not?

i don't know ill try it
but i don't trust it because for some reason i cant do a quick test
i guess i will report back in a hour and a half

What happens if you run the bootable version of that program? Sometimes disk diagnostics do weird things in Windows and work fine when Windows is not running.

You could also do the USB one if you have a USB available. If not, I wouldn't worry about the disk if Windows says it has no errors unless you start seeing odd behavior. How is the system running, otherwise?
