Please zip up and upload the contents of C:\Windows\Minidump with your next post.
Please uninstall the Norton as described above. Feel free to reinstall it after we're done troubleshooting.
The fact that you had Vista (and had BSOD's there also) suggests either a virus infection or a hardware problem.
Please run one of these free, independent anti-virus scans: Free Online AntiMalware Resources
Then start on these free diagnostics: Hardware Diags | My System Specs |

Use MemTest to test the memory: Memory Diagnostics
Use Prime95 to stress test the memory: Quote: Prime95 download site: Free Software - GIMPS Prime95 Setup:
- extract the contents of the zip file to a location of your choice
- double click on the executable file
- select "Just stress testing"
- select the "Blend" test. If you've already run MemTest overnight please run the "Small FFTs" test instead. (run all 3 if you find a problem and note how long it takes to error out with each)
- "Number of torture test threads to run" should equal the number of CPU's times 2 (if you're using hyperthreading).
The easiest way to figure this out is to go to Task Manager...Performance tab - and see the number of boxes under CPU Usage History
Then run the test for 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors (whichever comes first).
Monitor the CPU temperature and DON'T let it exceed 85║C. If it does, then you probably have a CPU cooling problem.
This won't necessarily crash the system - but check the output in the test window for errors.
The Test selection box and the stress.txt file describes what components that the program stresses.
More details on the use of this test: Torture test your CPU with Prime95 More to follow after the memory dumps finish running...... | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built (x64), Lenovo x61s Tablet, Samsung Netbook OS Win7 x64 + x86 CPU Intel i7 920, other Intel chips, and the Atom in the netbook Motherboard Asus P6T Deluxe Memory 12 gB; 4 gB Lenovo; 1 gB Samsung netbook Graphics Card ATI 4870 Sound Card Yes, I have one of these Monitor(s) Displays 32" Sharp Aquos TV Screen Resolution 800x600 - I have vision issues Keyboard Microsoft Natural Mouse Logitech Trackman PSU 1000 watt (can't recall the brand) Case Antec 300 Cooling Big honking cooler that was rated highly at Toms Hardware Hard Drives 4 - 150 gB Velociraptors in RAID 5

8 memory dumps
6 different BSOD error codes
5 different causes blamed
sptd.sys is still present in the memory dumps. Quote: Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on Windows 7 systems due to the sptd.sys driver.
Please uninstall the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): DuplexSecure - FAQ Then, check in C:\Windows\System32\ drivers to make sure that sptd.sys is gone from your system (DON'T REMOVE it yourself! - post back if it's still there).
Start/continue with the hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diags
Further info on BSOD error messages available at: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs: 3RD PARTY DRIVERS PRESENT IN THE DUMP FILES
- Create a System Restore Point prior to doing any of this. DO NOT mess with the drivers themselves - leave the Windows\System32\drivers directory alone unless we specifically direct you to it!
- Please either update the older drivers from the device manufacturer's website - or uninstall them from your system. Reference links are included below.
- DO NOT use Windows Update or the Update Drivers function of Device Manager.
- Please feel free to post back about any drivers that you are having difficulty locating.
- Windows Update exceptions may be noted below for Windows drivers. Code:

Now that the sptd.sys driver is gone, I'm suspecting another driver issue.
Please run Driver Verifier using these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

How did the memory tests come out?
Try a video memory test also: Hardware Diags
Verifier memory dump points at nVidia video drivers. So, it's either:
- video drivers
- video hardware
- other hardware (that impacts on the video - which is pretty much everything)
First try removing your video drivers, then downloading/installing the latest version from here: Graphics Driver - GeForce 285.62 Driver - GeForce
Is the video card built into the motherboard? If so, ensure that there's plenty of airflow across the motherboard.
If not, post back and I'll give you a list of things to check for a separate video card.
Then wait and see if the BSOD's have stopped.
Good luck!
