Problem Opening Windows 7 following Virus Removal (Windows Defender)
Hello,
Sorry to make my first post a question but here goes!
I have a Dell laptop running Windows 7 and using Microsoft Security Essentials anti-virus software. I have recently picked up a virus which was hijacking my search engine. This malicious software was automatically detected by Security Essentials but it informed me via a pop up window that I needed to download Windows Defender onto a flash drive and reboot my computer using it. I did this and everything seemed to be going really wlll with the Trojan detected and duly deleted.:)
The problem I now have is that I can no longer log onto my computer with Windows 7 not opening. I have tried using the 'Launch Start Up Tool' as instructed and the 'F12 reboot frm Hard Drive' to no avail. I desperately do not want to lose data from my hardrive. Does anybody have any ideas - system restore? Re-load Windows 7 ? etc. Is it the sort of thing a computer shop might be able to help me with?
I don't really know what I have done wrong as I followed all the instructions and it all seemed to working so well!
Many thanks in advance.
Cheers, Andy
