sleep turns into blue screen of death

I have an Asus Z96J with latest Windows 7 Build 7100. But it can only goes to sleep 1 time after that the screen will just go black and I have to press the power button to force shutdown. And after I turn it back on again, there will be a Windows error window saying I had a critical error of blue screen. The solution I found online are mainly to upgrade to 7100 but I am already using that version, please help me out

I'd personally download an RTM copy or one of the later builds ( 7201 was a stable and decent one for me)

It's hard to troubleshoot issues with old builds when newer ones exists out in the wild

if you don't feel like downloading a pirated copy of windows...try updating the video drivers.

I thought 7100 was the latest build, cause i just got it from MS site. Could you provide a link to RTM or 7201?

*Sorry I didn't know I could only get RTM pirated. I used the video card driver from Windows itself, should I get the one from ATI itself instead?

Always get your drivers from the manufacturer of the device's chipset. In this case it'll be Advanced Micro Devices Inc.

Drivers from Windows Update (and the Update drivers selection in Device Manager) only provide drivers that different system manufacturer's have uploaded to Microsoft. So, you may get a driver that is several versions older than the one's available from the device chipset manufacturer.

Also, the last I heard, Windows Update was still pushing some Vista drivers for Win7. I have an Asus P6T board and have had BSOD when sleeping issues since I started trying to use sleep in Win7. I reported this to Microsoft and was advised to get Win7 storage drivers in order to prevent the BSOD's.

I'm unable to find any information on the storage drivers for your system - but it appears to have an Intel chipset - so you may be able to find the Intel Matrix Storage drivers for Win7 there.
