Not yet, but I am wary of doing that as I had no problems before I ran Disk Check.

I will try that as a last resort before I wipe and reinstall.

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 - 64 Bit

I would try this:
Default File Type Associations - Restore

And do it for every registry file in the zip.

What is the status of Windows at this time? Were you able to recover the Start Menu, file extensions, libraries, etc.?

Does Windows save logs somewhere that shows folder names / file names?
Probably it doesn't and my question is a long shot - but I recently toasted a drive, and it had many folders and files which I have little memory of. I also never used one of those nice apps that makes a list. Any help appreciated. Much obliged. Tt

What exactly does this mean? It appears under properties-->security for certain programs. It certainly wasn't like this before. I've seen discussion about the unknown user account but why does my "Administrator" user have the red X and now I have "Administrators". In control panel-->user accounts...

Check disk problems
I am having issues with my comp rebooting alot. That is being handled in another forum but I am trying to run check disk and my comp reboots durring the long process. Is there a software or some way to run check disk on all my other hard drives (not C:\) in bootup?

Hi guys... for some reason chkdsk wants to run at every startup, but then it cancels itself automatically without me doing anything. Anyone know why it's doing this or how to prevent it?
