Win 7 will not shutdown after update, cannot use Sys Restore.

    Now reinstalled Win 7 and priority programs, the PC now shuts down and there are no problems shown in Device Manager.

    I did have one thing go wrong, my router gave up the ghost but I had a spare so could continue updating. I have printed out the 'Create an Image Backup' tutorial and will complete this asap.

    Once again thanks to the forum members for constructive input and advice.
