Hi there;

I have Asuru laptop, Windows 7 64-bit with 8 GB RAM.

Just bought it 5 days ago. However, recently the booting up process has been horrendously slow, taking ten minutes for even the screen to refresh.

I loaded up the laptop in Safe Mode; this seemed to help somewhat. In an attempt to fix the issues, I went to Event Viewer. Was not able to access Event viewer or the information contained within it, was presented with the following message:

"Event Log Service is unavailable".

Please help! I have ran CHKDSK to little avail.

* It would be helpful if you would fill in your System Specs.
Refer snip.

* There are many reasons why a PC " behaves" this way.

These annoying " gliches" may be caused by an overloaded hard drive, overworked CPU,
Malware,
running 2 AV 's,
unnecessary data,
Browser addons or you may have unnecessary programs running in the background etc....

* Did your computer come preloaded with Anti Virus Software?
If so what was it & how did you remove it?

* Please list ALL of your Current Security software.

* Have you used a Registry Cleaner/optimizer?

* Run SFC Option 2.
Let us know the results at the end.

Yes, I can't remember the name of it: Platinum Technology Antivirus I think. That was preloaded on the computer.

I uninstalled it via control panel.

In its place, I have installed the trial version of Kasperskys Anti-Virus 2012.

* Have you used a Registry Cleaner/optimizer?

No.

* Run SFC Option 2.

The first time I ran it; the box finished and closed itself automatically. Any attempt by me to run it SFC Option 2 again causes the program to execute and close down so quick I can't even read the text.

I have uploaded CBS logs as well as various items of information from System Information. I was not sure what was needed/relevant, so grabbed what I could.

Im sorry, I don't have an installation disk for the Windows 7 OS.

The OS was built into the laptop. I feel like I have a set of keys in my house, when I have locked myself out.

Can someone please advise me as to if it is possible to achieve a clean installation and revert back to factory settings, with the handicap of the OS already pre-installed and with no external media?

* You say your computer is almost brand new...and I would imagine under warranty.

A new computer should not be presenting with the problems you have listed - & we volunteers should not be putting at risk the rights,YOU, the consumer has under that warranty...
Be aware that attempting any subsequent hardware troubleshooting steps may, in some cases, void your warranty.

I strongly suggest that you should seek further advice asap.

Under Warranty terms a duty of care applies.
