ok, thank you for being patient with me

well after looking and looking it appears that my machine it getting quite old and as a result the original drivers for my machine might not be available, i have found that my machine is a packard bell imedia 5070 if this helps any,

i really don't want to install driver doctor or anything like that if i can help it, as they usually send me to a page where i need to pay for something and i don't do internet purchasing.

to add, once i uninstalled daemon tools my computer now can't find a windows service to run from? i'm so confused but want to get the audio thing sorted as that's what as you said is causing my BSOD.

    thankyou

Can you type out to me or show me the exact error you're getting? Also, the audio drivers may not be your direct cause to your BSODs, but regardless I would like to make sure your drivers are up to date as that's always important. If the manufacturers website says there are no up to date drivers for your components, then that's that. Unfortunately, with some old pre-built computers, there isn't any up to date drivers.

i'm afraid i can't lol, i restarted my pc so could get the message up again, and it appears to have sorted itself out, everything looks normal again, so i'm back to looking for the issue that is my BSOD.

    AH, good to hear.

Alright, here's what I want you to do:

Three tests I'd like you to run:

    Chkdsk:

    1. Open the "Computer" window
    2. Right-click on the drive in question
    3. Select the "Tools" tab
    4. In the Error-checking area, click <Check Now>.

    Memtest:

Read the following to test your memory for errors.

    Driver Verifier:

    Read the following
to enable Driver Verifier. Use Driver Second if Memtest finds nothing, as it's likely a software / driver issue, we just aren't being told what it is, and hopefully Driver Verifier will than force a crash if it finds the violating driver.

    i'm back again,

right then, ran the first Chkdsk, came up with nothing.

didn't read it properly, and tried the driver verifier, this didn't come up with anything as far as i can tell, however when i did bring it back from idle mode, and it went to blue, it never actually blue screened. just rebooted, and rebooted and rebooted until after a forced turn off it finally came back to life.

memtest i can't get to run, i hve followed all steps that are listed, but when i restart my pc it just boots up as normal.

to add to all this, i now have a very low annoying ticking going through my tower, which i think maybe graphics card bearings. not happy, can it hurt it running the pc whilst it's ticking.

Ticking could be caused by many things, fan bearings in any fan(s), PSU, Hard Drive, etc.

i have it confirmed, bearings going in my graphics card, king of hindering my process for sorting my BSOD out, as the noise it's making is driving me crazy.

I would recommend sorting this, as possibly your graphics card may be overheating? Just a theory. Either way, I'd get that sorted out.

however, now that my graphics card is sorted, i'm going to wait untill is goes into standby again, and see if it blue screens once live again. so here's hoping it was just the graphics card that was causing the problem, i dunno we'll soon find out.

right then, graphics card being sorted made no difference to my BSOD, however now it doesn't blue screen it just reboots, really confused.
