It definitely could be the source of the problem.

I would try and change the RAM to one that is listed as compatible with the motherboard, at the very least compatible with the chipset, though this is a distant second to motherboard compatibility.
RAM can be finicky, it's best to eliminate as many variables as you can.

Got the replacement mobo/cpu today. Hooked everything up and I'm not getting any output to the monitor at all. No idea why brand new out of the box it would give me no display whatsoever. I'm going to try a few things I'll check back here in a bit. Thanks for any help you can give.

Are the diagnostic LEDs lighting up on the board to indicate it has proper power?

Yea sorry should have gave more info. It was powering up fine all fans spinning just no display. Once I pulled one of the sticks of RAM it was fine. All the previous problems were gone I guess one of the sticks of ram was bad as well because even when I tried it with one stick of RAM before RMA'n the mobo/cpu I was still getting those same artifacts.

Alright, glad it was narrowed down. Let us know how the system responds over the next few days.

When you RMA the RAM, find a brand and model number that is compatible with your motherboard.

Go to the RAM manufacturers website and lookup your motherboard or check the RAM model numbers compatible section.

Let us know how the system is running with the new RAM.
