Also, I have my OC Genie Lite enabled in my Motherboard BIOS. This has never caused me any problems but would you like me to try disabling it and the AMD Cool N' Quiet Feature.

Given that you are unfamiliar with the BIOS and setting RAM timings, I am hesitant to continue this route. It is probably safer to let the BIOS manage the settings. To make sure the BIOS is managing optimal settings, proceed with the following:
Note: If you are using a RAID controller, this will reset the RAID and you will lose your data. Backup all important files and make a system image before proceeding with this step if you have multiple hard drives in a RAID configuration. .
  1. Go into your BIOS and load default settings to clear the CMOS memory.
  2. Save Settings and exit the BIOS.
  3. Shut down and turn off the computer.
  4. Unplug the computer from the wall or surge protector (then remove the battery if it is a laptop).
  5. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. This closes the circuit and ensures all power from components is drained to clear the software connections between the BIOS and hardware and clear any corruption in the temporary memory.
  6. (If it is a laptop, plug the battery back into the laptop and then) Plug the computer back into the wall.
  7. Turn it on to reinitialize the software connections between the BIOS and hardware, and post back your results.
If you are unsure whether you are running a RAID configuration, do the following steps.
  1. Click Start Menu
  2. Right Click My Computer/Computer
  3. Click Manage
  4. Click Device Manager from the list on the left
  5. Expand Disk Drives and check for RAID manufacturers (use Google or ask us by typing in manufacturers listed in your Disk Drives list)

Alternatively:
  1. Login as an adminstrative user.
  2. Click Start Menu
  3. Click Control Panel
  4. Click Hardware and Sound
  5. Click Device Manager (the last link under Devices and Printers)
  6. Expand Disk Drives and check for RAID manufacturers (use Google or ask us by typing in manufacturers listed in your Disk Drives list)

Yes, disable any overclocking features. The cool n' quiet feature should be fine, however. You are welcome to set the cool n' quiet feature after loading setup defaults.

Hey, writhziden, I did what you told me to do and reset my bios settings and the crashes and errors stopped. It seemed like my problem was caused by a combination of poor drivers (sound and video) and poor bios settings. Again thanks for your help! I will mark this thread as solved.

Note: it seemed like the AMD cool N'quiet feature was causing CTD in skyrim for anyone with this problem reading this. Skyrim is very system sensitive and it seems that any sort of minor driver errors or bios errors will cause crashes and BSODs.
