Windows 7: Blue Screen of death when logging in

for some reason, on the intel site the screen continues to "loading.." but nothing is coming up. i'm about ready to just same my profile and reload windows 7 when my new dvd drive comes in the mail.

What browser are you using for the Intel site? You may have to use Internet Explorer if you are using something else.

i was using FF but tried it under IE. Got pass the loading and now it's to the "installing" but not going any further

Have you run the system file check? With all these problems, I am suspecting there may be corrupted Windows files.

Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations.

Update:

Still couldn't get any of those solutions to work so I just ended up backing up my profile and doing a clean install of windows 7. That fixed it
