    Random BSODs, crashes, computer slowness

I built this computer about a year ago, and have had some problems recently.
    Specs:
    Gigabyte ga-p55a-ud3
    Core i5-650 @ 3.2GHz
ATI Radeon 5770 (powering 2 monitors w/ DVI)
    Patriot "Sector 5" RAM (2x4GB)
    Windows 7 Home Premium x64

I have had BSODs almost daily for the past week or so, but they're all different. Several hours ago, after leaving it unattended for a few hours, the computer just kind of turned off, but with the system fan and lights still on. My monitors has no signal, and my keyboard didn't do anything, but its light was still on. Maybe there's something wrong with my graphics card? I'm going to try to run a memtest tonight.

I uploaded some minidumps below--these are all of the ones in the past 2 weeks.

    Thanks.

These crashes were caused by memory corruption/exception (probably a driver).
Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

    * If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
    In other words STOP!!!

    * If you have raid update its Driver.

    Memtest.
*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

    RAM - Test with Memtest86+

    Driver verifier

Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

    Then, here's the procedure:
    - Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
    - Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
    - Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
    - Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Special Pool", "Force Pending I/O Requests" and "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
    - Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
    - Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen.
Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly.
The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out.
If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation.

Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Thanks, I tried that. I ran memtest86+ overnight and it showed no errors, and enabled Driver Verifier. Crashes happened somewhat randomly, occurring while watching a Youtube video in Chrome, watching a movie in VLC, browsing the internet, and other tasks. My computer also crashed multiple times while I wasn't at it, such as overnight.
Here are some new minidumps, if it helps.

    Any other suggestions?

Also, I ran a GPU stress test for half an hour and the system stayed stable (some lag while doing other tasks, however), so I'm guessing that the GPU isn't at fault.

We will start with the common problems first (see bold possible causes). Do the following steps and test by doing your normal routine after each step to see if stability increases. Post back your results after each step, and if you get a blue screen crash, upload the files again and await further instructions after we are able to analyze the crash.

If you can do your normal routine for a few weeks without a crash, and your crashes are usually more frequent than that, then the problem is likely solved.

    • If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

    • Run Disk Check with both boxes checked for all HDDs and with Automatically fix file system errors checked for all SSDs. Post back your logs for the checks after finding them using Check Disk (chkdsk) - Read Event Viewer Log.
For any drives that do not give the message:
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems
run disk check again as above. In other words, if it says:
Windows has made corrections to the file system
after running the disk check, run the disk check again.

    • Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations.

    • gdrv.sys: Remove Gigabyte Easy Saver - mobo power utility; it is known to cause crashes when out of date.
cbfs.sys: Remove Callback File System; these types of programs are notorious for causing crashes.

    • Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup

    • Re-install or install the latest drivers for your network adapters and audio devices.

    • Re-install your antivirus if you have one. If you do not have one: If you did not have antivirus software, run a full scan of your system after updating your new security software.

    • Uninstall your online backup software.

I ran sfc and it said that there were errors that it could not fix. Ran it about 2 times with the same error.
Here is the log file that it referenced, if that helps.

See OPTION THREE of SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker and post the sfcdetails.txt file instead. :)

The tip in that OPTION also gives information on how to replace any corrupted files found.

You do not appear to have major system corruption, but it should be fixed. Use the tip in OPTION THREE of SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker to replace corrupted file: MSHWCHTRIME.dll.

Does it matter if I copy the dll from an original or SP1 windows 7 disk?
