The VMT is running now... It estimates a 2hr 20min completeion time. Can I just double check that you want me to do 7 of them?

Correct, 7 would be best. Understand if you do not want to go more than that since that will take over 16 hours at present speed.

Pain in the bum, it crashed half way through, started again...

I don't know whether this is of note:-

    Trying 16bpp BGR:565 mode...NOT SUPPORTED (Code: 80004001)

    Trying 32bpp BGR:888 mode...NOT SUPPORTED (Code: 80004001)

    Pass completed (0 errors found)

Doesn't look like there were errors. NOT SUPPORTED messages just mean the hardware does not support those tests; those can be ignored. Were you halfway through the first pass or halfway through 7 passes?

Ok, thanks. It was halfway through pass:2. Since starting again it's now on Pass:3. No errors found as yet...

Left VMT going overnight, it managed 35 passes with no errors. I'll carry on with the tests later today when I have chance.

I really hope we find something that can be solved!

    Hi Folks,

it appears that I am having the same problem with the same spec machine. My machine can go for hours (literally 8-9) without a problem and then freezes (mouse/touch pad does nothing and ctl/alt/ptsc does not bring up task manager), the only way out of this problem is to hold start button for 10 seconds and restart....I have left machine for 20-30 mins to see if problem recovers itself and nothing happens.

    1. Happens when machine is warm and using internet....so I thought cpu getting too hot BUT fan is working.

Could it be a driver conflict (from wireless mouse or router?)...would this happen intermittently?

Hope to find a solution fairly soon as my warranty runs out fairly soon...so if I have a real problem I would like to get it done before its too late.

    ...your thoughts?

fasteddie: We prefer that you start your own thread and just follow this one as it progresses. You will get more help that way. As to the temperatures, post #25 may be of interest.

    Hi Writhziden,

my idea wasnt to focus on my own problem, just to add to this post to see if that everyone was sharing the same symptoms.

Further investigation on the internet (and of the error messages that I am getting) is suggesting that there might be a conflict between third party accessory drivers and the intel chipset drivers (people seem to be getting an LMS message) where everything is fine until the third party driver upsets the intel driver...some have sorted the problem by updating the intel chipset driver...not had the time to do this yet.
