Windows 7 Repair from original Windows 7 CD won't start

Even after I use the F2 & F12 functions at startup, I still cannot get my computer to recognize the original Windows 7 CD in the drive. Under the F2 Boot function (on the InsydeH20 Setup Utility Screen) I have moved the CD/DVD drive to #1. I also attempted to manually choose CD/DVD under the F12 function for Boot Setup.

Neither will recognize the CD. I have just two very important documents that were created in the past week that I need to get off my hard drive.

    Problem Details:

    Any thoughts?

I see some other posts talking about partitions and such and I have no idea wha that means.

Have you tried booting something else from that optical drive?

You could d/l the Paragon rescue kit ( free).

Rescue Kit Free Edition | PARAGON Software Group - free partition software, hard disk partitioning

Try making a cd and booting it.

If it works on your drive - then select Normal mode, then File Transfer Wizard - can copy stuff off with that.

The link and files you sent worked great. It took some time trying to figure out how to actually make the CD (I tried downloading every file to a CD).

Then I had issues transferring the files, but a the ol' college try finally worked.

Any idea how I could possibly find the virus that shut down my computer so I can delete it? Any idea how I can completely erase my computer and start from scratch again? Lastly, any idea how I can recover MS Office products so I could at least transfer to another computer?

Thanks for the help SIW2!!! Thank you!!!

Do you mean your MS Office product key?

If you don't already have that saved somewhere - there are utilities which can find it.

You have to run them from another windows installation - or from a winpe boot media.

ProduKey - Recover lost product key (CD-Key) of Windows/MS-Office/SQL Server
