Well, the re-installation was a bit over three hours, but run smoothly. Afterwards there were several problems, and I could solve them all, but one. I couldn’t install the ATI display driver
and Catalytic (CCC). I had the same problem when I first used it for the present installation, but I solved it. Now, I had to test the .NetFramwork files as the other time, repaired one that was corrupt and all that, but this time no way. I kept getting the same error message about the MOM.Implementation. I made lots of searches and read many instruction and forum threads; strangely enough I found many recommendations, but didn’t find anyone saying that his issue had been solved, even if I was lucky to do it last year. The driver partly worked, but could not be controlled and I needed that. Another strange thing was the Shut down
button changed to Sleep
and I couldn’t reset it. Comodo firewall also got corrupt and the program's own repair install was unable to repair it. Not a big problem because it could be wiped and reinstalled. It happened the same to three other applications, two of them being also from Asus (Cool & Quiet and Probe II). None of them would have been a problem, but the ATI display driver was. Only the OS and programs could get broken because I keep most things away from the OS, even the Start Menu and Firefox profile. I spent over two full days trying to reinstall that driver and had enough
While I was there, I tested the Bluetooth after remaking the broken connection. This time the files exchange didn’t even open the directory for the mobile on Explorer, though the modem diagnosis was OK.
Your suggestion was good. I have done this before with XP and Vista, nothing of this happened and nothing was broken. Now, I It was very unlucky
. I ended up using the disk image I had done before the install repair, and am back to the same pool. Before I buying a new dong blindly I will try it on a small XP partition that I will mount, and I will tell you the result very soon because that was the subject of this thread.
