First off, um, just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to talk through this. I realized in explaining everything I haven't done that yet. So thank you, a lot.

Secondly I went into F9 and booted from the CD/DVD drive and the computer just started up as normal. Though when it started up it made a lot of those "error" noises as if it was trying to do something but no pops came up. Then things like "memory stick" and another "Dx" something autorun functions popped up and then disappeared.

F9 is the one you want. If it is not working, try one of the other recovery discs. Is it possible the wrong one is inserted?

I checked and doubled checked. The one inserted is System Recovery DVD Windows 7 Recovery Media for Windows 7 products. Disc 1 of 2

Other then that I have two more disc.s Disc 2 of 2

And "Application and Driver Recovery CD"

The biggest headache I get though is the CD telling me it isn't compatible with my computer. When at the time I have my computer specs opened and it says 64 bit. And the Cd also says 64 bit.

I am searching around the web an I believe I figured out what the problem may be. I've had to have best buy repair this laptop once and they had to replace the hard-drive and I believe the motherboard.

According to other folks
Recovery discs incompatible with my computer model. - HP Support Forum

This can be the problem with my recovery disks not being recognized.

Yes, your motherboard being replaced will prevent the discs from working... Did Best Buy advise you to create new ones when you received the computer back? If they did not, I would call them and let them know of the troubles you are having. They should have advised you on the matter.

Bestbuy and I don't really have the best relationship... I live in Maine and there is a law here that requires any product purchased to last for at least 4 years(Used cars exempted) if it is not abused an used correctly.

So I've gone to best buy many times after their 1 year warranty and they've had to service my laptops(When hardware breaks, the law doesn't cover software) quite a few times. They just hate me cause I get stuff for free .

So I don't know if they'd be willing to help. The computer is only a year and a half old and already broken, I think this is the last time I buy an HP. I've read lots of people have problems like this. Anyways, thanks a lot for the help!

You're welcome. Let us know if there is anything we can do. The only other option I can think of at this time is to contact HP and see what they will do for you.

You could also clean install Windows 7 on the machine. Clean Install Windows 7
