    BSOD during shutdown

    Hi,
I've been having issues with BSOD for about a week now. It typically occurs during shutdown, whether I'm just turning off the computer or it is restarting after installing updates. Things generally seem to be working fine otherwise.

I got the computer in November with Windows 7 (64-bit) pre-installed and I haven't made any changes or re-installed the OS at all.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Classic memory exception related to SYMANTEC.

Symantec is a frequent cause of BSOD's. I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

Seems to have taken care of it. MSE also picked up on a trojan, Alureon.A, that Norton wasn't finding so I'm not sure if that might have been playing a part in it as well. I had to go through some extra steps to get that removed that were explained in the link below.

    How to remove Trojan:DOS/Alureon.A

Thanks for the quick response and helping me get things running smoothly again!
