    BSOD while playing games

I have been having BSOD for a while now and need some help resolving them.

    System specs:

    Windows 7 64-bit
    Service pack 1

    Motherboard: M4A87TD evo
Processor: AMD Phenom II 955 3.2GHz
    RAM: Sector 5 PGV386 1600ELK DDR3 2x4GB
Video Card: PNY Geforce 440 GT

I have tried updating drivers and and even re-formated windows and reinstalled everything, but still getting the blue screens.

It seems to me that the problem started when i installed the geforce nvidia 295.73 drivers, but im not sure this was the original problem. I have tried reinstalling nvidia 265.58 through the newest 296.10. they all seem to give BSOD. Thought it seems more frequent with the newer drivers. Today i have had 4 BSOD while playing Skyrim.

I am not sure why but a dump file is not always created only about 50% of the time. I am posting the ones that i have.

I am also posting the system health check and the Dump system file collection from jcgriff2.

    Any help would be great.
    Thanks
    -Andrew

Just FYI - a recent poster (early Nov 2011) states that they were advised by Asus to manually set their memory settings/timings/voltages because of issues with the M4 series of motherboards.
You can get the settings/timings/voltages from the website of your RAM manufacturer.
Kaspersky drivers date from 2009 to 2011. I'd suggest updating to the latest version, or uninstalling and using a free antivirus.

Please update your AMD chipset drivers from the AMD website - as several of them date from 2009.
I believe that these are the correct drivers: AMD Chipset Drivers

I have no idea what the EVO Mouse stuff is for - but do you need it in addition to the Microsoft Mouse stuff? If not, please uninstall it.

nVidia video drivers date from early 2011. Please update them.

If all this doesn't fix it, then post back and we'll see about running Driver Verifier on 3rd party drivers.

    Thanks for the info.

I will go through and update these drivers.

Just wondering if i download the newest drivers, for example, from nividia, the 296.10 set, why does it not update the drivers you listed?

The short answer is "I don't know"
I deal with the dates on the files - and don't always know what dates are in the package that you download.

If you're talking about the Kaspersky (and other pay-for items), they'll only let you download what you've purchased. So, to get the newer versions you'll have to purchase a newer version.

    Update.

I have the nvidia 296.10 drivers installed, they should be the newest for my card.
I have kapsersky 2012, installed and up to date, this is thethe newest version.
The Evoluent drivers let me custom set my buttons, and i have the newest version installed.

I installed the newest chipset drivers from AMD.

Played Skyrim after installing new chipset drivers. BSOD after 20 mins, which is about usual right now. Windows did not created minidump.

Uninstalled Evoluent mouse drivers. Played Skyrim and got BSOD after 20 mins or so. windows did create minidump and i am uploading it.

Uninstalled Kaspersky anti-virus. Played Skyrim for about an hour, no BSOD, yet. Going to play more tomorrow and see if it crashes or not.

This one shows a lot of activity in DirectX before the crash with some sort of system service starting things off.

Just on a hunch, try Prime95 and FurMark (free) using the procedure's here: Hardware Diags

Chipset drivers date from as early as 2009. But there's nothing that we can do if AMD doesn't have any newer.

Next suspect is Kaspersky - as it's drivers date from 2009 and 2011.

If it continues to BSOD, let's try Driver Verifier according to these directions: Driver Verifier Settings

played Skyrim last night for over an hour no crashed. today it i got a BSOD again.
have Speccy, installed and it says cpu temp max was about 60C and video card was usually in mid 70C range.

ran Furmark for 20 minutes no problems. max temp hit 100C and stayed at 99C.

haven't ran prime95 yet, haven't had 6+ hours to run it and monitor it.

going to run mem86 test tonight.

    Kaspersky is still unistalled.

All drivers are the latest that we can get. So if Prime95 and Memtest don't reveal anything, then it's time to try Driver Verifier. Please do it according to these directions: Driver Verifier Settings

Ok so ran Memtest86 for about 12 hours, no errors.

Ran Prim95 test. after 12 hours got error.
    - FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4 Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.

also ran the verifier and it crashed right away while playing a game. attacking the minidump file. Is the minidump file the file verifier writes to or is there a different file somewhere? Ii wasn't clear on that.

    Prime95 says that there's a hardware error.
    It can be:
    - RAM
    - CPU cache
    - memory controller (inside the CPU)

To help figure out which, try these tests:

First, run Prime95 Blend, Small FFT's and Large FFT's successively
Time how long it takes to get an error in each test. The tests must be run successively to level out the system's stress in relation to the errors. Post the results here for us to have a look at.

Then, run several of the CPU stress tests from here: Hardware Diags

Although this memory dump may have occurred when Driver Verifier was running - it's not a Driver Verifier Enabled Memory Dump. But it does have some very interesting issues that'll have to be looked into.

The error itself is a STOP 0xFC, but the memory dump is partially corrupted and shows Windows drivers that overwrite other Windows drivers. IMO this is most likely a hardware problem (because of the errors in Prime95).
I'd suggest starting with the hardware diagnostics that I describe above and we'll see where that leads us.

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs
