BSOD when restarting computer also happens randomly.

I have received the BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE several times and I would like to know what is causing it. It happens sometimes when I turn off or restart my computer, also it will sometimes do it when using the computer for basic tasks.

I do not know if it has a code or anything because every time it happens I don't write it down. I have read other threads about activating Driver Verifier and I have done so. I just wanted to create a thread to see if it was something else, or if there is another way to fix it.

    Thank you.

    Specs:
    Windows 7 Home Premium x64
Windows 7 is the original OS and came pre installed
    Laptop is 1 year old
    Never re installed OS

Symantec is a frequent cause of BSOD's. I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

I will try that, I don't really like Norton anyways, it came free with Comcast so I thought might as well.
