    I'm honestly not sure how to use the DOS version. I put it on a CD, but opening it just has the iso file on the CD...

    You need to double click the ISO and burn it to CD using the program that opens the ISO file. Windows has a built in system to do so, or you can use a third party program. Many on here use and recommend The Official ImgBurn Website which is free.
