    Need help with BSOD.

Running windows 7 ultimate 32bit full retail.
    Asus M4A77TD.
    Radeon 3850.
    AMD Phenom ii black edition.
    2 x 2GB Patriot G2 PC3-10666 1333MHz.

Hello, and thanks for your time.
Running W7 for about 3-4 months after old motherboard died.
System was idle for about 2 hours when screen went blank for about a second, then replaced by bluescreen.

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000c2 (0x00000007, 0x0000109b, 0x08060017, 0x87d1d218). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 033112-16177-01.

    Got this from event viewer.
This has happened a couple of times intermittently, but let it go...til now, not sure if its the same error message, as this is the first time I got BSOD while system idle.

Also, have had other erratic behaviour eg: while transfering large files to external drive transfer would stop leaving me thinking all done, this would happen when power options set to power down monitor after 30 minutes. Have set monitor to never sleep and problem solved, but maybe worth a mention here.
Also, have noticed warning in event viewer, "dll's for all apps being loaded". Using avast free av, and noticed avast real time scanner going crazy with 100%...maybe its scanning all these dll's at that time but again not sure, just maybe worth a mention.

I dont mind admitting Im a little bit punchy at the moment trying to troubleshoot this so if Ive left out some information you need please feel free to ask.

Am ataching perfmon html and file generated by bsod dump and system file check.
    Thanks again :)

These were related to your Avast

I would remove and replace with MSE.

Avast can be a contributing cause of BSOD'S . Please remove and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

Hello ZigZag, and thanks for your reply. Ive used MSE in the past and didnt like it...or trust it. I dont doubt your knowledge or experience, after all I came here for your help, but I find it hard to believe that avast is not compatible with W7. If Im honest, I would probably revert back to XP rather than give up avast. Again, I mean no offence, but would love a "second opinion" and more detailed information on this. Its not enough to just say "uninstall" and then recommend a MS product. Hope you see my point. However, I do appreciate your time and efforts on this matter.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I prefer the OP questions because both they and I learn. Personally I dont like (or use) MSE, but from a strictly BSOD perspective it does cause the fewest, hence the recommendation.

We just recommend. It is you that has to live with the crashes. Avast is a cause of BSOD's on some systems (try Googling Avast BSOD and win 7 there are 191,000 hits).

As ALL BSOD's are a combination of factors, yours just happens to be one of the ones where it conflicts.

    Good luck.

Hello Ken, sorry for not replying sooner, just got this now. I understand where your coming from and the point your making, I hope that comes across. I have been looking for good, or near as good alternatives but I think Im going to live with the crashes for a while longer....they're not that frequent and its only been any kind of an issue since installing W7, pity software manufacturers dont collaborate a bit more.
Thanks again for your time and input:)
