Windows 7: BAD_POOL_CALLER with 0x000000c2 ( 0x0000000000000007,0x000000000000109

A month ago for the first time I saw the blue screen. I was heading for a trip and was in a rush and therefore did not get a chance to reserach into it at that time. After I came back from my trip I did not have the problem until yesterday night (Apr 2, 2012). I got the the blue screen 3 - 4 times in a row since yesterday. Initially the blue screen disappeared b4 I cud read the error, I disabled the auto restart and copied the error which is as follows:

BAD_POOL_CALLER with 0x000000c2 ( 0x0000000000000007,0x000000000000109B,0x000000000004001C, xFFFFFA80066AB410)

Got another one after the above, but there was no "CAPS_CAPS" description, this one just had the following numbers: 0x0000007E ( 0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF800030E08C4, 0xFFFFF880031BD7A8, xFFFFF880031BD000)



I have a Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit) and I do not remember what software or hardware caused it. I have installed and uninstalled a few softwares since I have had the laptop (May 2010), but not any hardware. Also, I have Eset Smart Security 4.2.58.3 & Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

Attached are the zipped dump files I had in the MiniDump folder since 2010 till date AS WELL as an error text file that was on my desktop by Java ???!!

Please can someone help me on this ASAP. Do not want to loose my data (imp docs & precious pics are there).

PS: Since posting the above, got another blue screen with just the series of numbers. I was not doing anything apart from just posting on this website. Dint copy it from the blue screen but it is from the Windows pop-up on restarting:

Your crashes point to Eset.
For testing purposes you are advised to remove it this way

http://download.eset.com/special/ESETUninstaller.exe

and install Microsoft Security Essential for protection in the interim.

Thank you for the prompt response. Since posting the above dump files, I have had the blue screen after every hour now. I will upload those in a while.

In the meantime I will uninstall Eset Smart Security and install Microsoft Security Essentials. You mentioned "in the interim install MSE", so can I revert back to Eset later or update to the new version of Eset 5.0.94.0?

As your crashes pointed to Eset we need to see if you still crash without it... or not!
So one step at a time.

I am running the Eset uninstaller, but its asking me for a sequence number. Where do i get that from? I downloaded the Eset from a forum's website (2 yrs back). Its not a paid version.

Can I just uninstall it from Control Panle -- Programs --- Uninstall ?

Ok. I uninstalled the Eset (sequence # 1. ESS/ EAV / EMSX). But it showed another one #2 SEP. I googled it and it showed its Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP). So I removed that AV also.

I also installed the Microsoft Security Essential from the link you provided.

Should I disable Malwarebytes by going to Start --- search for "msconfig"--- startup --- uncheck the box next to Malwarebytes? If not, then now what do I do?

Regarding the MSE antivirus, will it start automatically when I start my pc, the way Eset did? I wud perfer that it start automatically so I don't have to be worried when I am using the internet.

1. Leave Malwarebytes enabled.
2. MSE does start automatically with Windows.

Just wanted to menion this: After I started the laptop in normal mode after unstalling Eset, (my internet connection was disabled) I got an error message in the right hand corner saying that the "Atheros" & "Realtek" drivers are not upto date or something like that (do not remember the exact word as I have'nt slept in 2 days due to this Blue screen of DEATH).

Anyways, so I connected to the internet and installed the Microsoft Security Essentials AV and did a complete scan (took appx 2 hrs and detetcted some Java malicious items which were deleted/removed).

After the above, I have not had the blue screen. What I am concerned about is if all the drivers on my laptop are upto date or not. I did not see any problem with video, sound or wifi after the above driver error msg. Did I overlook something or not look in the correct place?
