Windows 7: BSOD Regularly during gaming

32bit Windows 7 Ultimate (Reinstalled a week ago)
Bought all of the hardware individually around February 2009

I put the computer together in Feb 2009 and it worked fine for the first few months then during any video game and youtube video it would freeze, display horizontal colored bars across the screen, then BSOD and reboot. It started out infrequently(once weekly) but increased as time went by(every 5-10 minutes of game time). I gave up on the computer but recently tried to get it going again. I cleared everything and reinstalled the OS fresh. For the first week it was working great with no crashes and now it started to have the same symptoms about an hour into the game(Which currently is Crusader Kings II).

These were related to the amdk8.sys driver. When the processor drivers are listed as the probable cause it usually signifies a processor fault. You can attempt to confirm this by running a CPU stress test CPU - Stress Test with Prime95 - (run the Blend test as well as the SmallFFTs test)

Try this free stress test: Free Software - GIMPS

- double click on the executable file
- select "Just stress testing"
- select the "Blend" test. If you've already run MemTest overnight you may want to run the "Small FFTs" test instead.
- "Number of torture test threads to run" should equal the number of CPU's times 2 (if you're using hyperthreading).
The easiest way to figure this out is to go to Task Manager...Performance tab - and see the number of boxes under CPU Usage History
Then run the test for 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors (whichever comes first).
The Test selection box and the stress.txt file describes what components that the program stresses.

Tried the blend test and it blue screened within 5 minutes and I had to use a previous restore point to reboot my computer back. I'm thinking I will update BIOS and if that fails find a CPU and try it out. If you guys can think of anything more effective let me know. Thanks for the help.
