Windows 7: Often occurring 0x0000009f DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

- Gateway ZX4931 computer with touchscreen installed.
- 3gig RAM
- Pentium Dual Core E5800
- Intel G45/G43 Express Chipset
- 64bit Windows 7 Home Premium
- Only OS ever on system
- OEM
- Computer and all hardware is about a year old.
- As stated above, the OS came installed and is about a year old too.
-Problem started about 6 months ago.

Virtually the same and related to USBHUB.SYS. Something on USB is taking too long to respond. What devices do you have on USB?

This may be cured by updating to SP-1.

Please run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and then update to SP-1

The only usb devices currently plugged in are a keyboard, mouse, and printer.

I just installed Service Pack 1 last night, but will look more into it. Will update you on System Update readiness outcome.

Edit: I checked on the System in Control Panel, and it does say Service Pack 1 is installed.

Great when the crash occurred it was not installed. If you continue to crash please upload the DMPS.

Some new Bluescreens.

Virtually all of these were driver power state and related to the usbhub.sys.

I would try this generic help and if the crashes continue remove all usb devices just to test.

USB Driver - General Fix for Problems

Did the USB fix, still Bluescreened.

Still blamed on usb. How many devices and what are they (on USB)?

Mouse, keyboard, camera, and and ipod charger.

AppleCharger is a known cause of USB related BSOD's and USB will natively charge devices without it
