What is the current state of the system? Are you able to run Windows normally but with crashes randomly, or do you have to run in Safe Mode? | My System Specs |

I seem to be able to run Windows normally after I do a System Restore, but this only lasts for one session. On the next boot up, I get the BSOD again after getting to the windows desktop. If I run in Safemode I have no crashes, and the only problem I notice is my audio is off and Firefox doesn't work (no FF in normal or safemode). | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Sony Vaio VGN-NW125J OS Windows 7 Home Premium v6.1, 64-bit CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6500 @ 2.10GHz 2.09 GHz |

I would recommend that you Repair Install Windows 7. To get the installation media, use steps 1-3 of Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 and download the Windows 7 Home Premium SP1-U ISO x64 version for your language. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion e9110t OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9550 @ 2.83GHz Motherboard Pegatron IPIEL-LA3 Memory 6.00 GB Hundai HMT125U6BFR8C-H9 Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4850 Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio/ATI High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Acer AL2216W Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard HP Keyboard Mouse HP Mouse PSU Unknown/installed by HP Case HP generic case Cooling Intel Stock Cooling Hard Drives Hitachi HDP725050GLA360 ATA Device 500 GB Internet Speed Download: 19.15 Mbps Upload: 1.67 Mbps Other Info Network Adapter Realtek RTL8168D/8111D Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)

I am having dificulty doing this. I can't seem to run the Windows 7 USB Download installer in Safe Mode, and I can't keep normal mode up long enough to even start running it. I have the ISO you told me to download on the desktop, so now I'm a little stuck. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Sony Vaio VGN-NW125J OS Windows 7 Home Premium v6.1, 64-bit CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6500 @ 2.10GHz 2.09 GHz |

What about doing the system restore to allow normal mode to run again? Is that method no longer working?
You won't be able to do a repair install in safe mode, so if you cannot get normal mode working, you will have to backup your important data and do a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 or backup the important data and use the SONY factory image to restore (press ALT + F10 at startup on the VAIO POST screen). | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion e9110t OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9550 @ 2.83GHz Motherboard Pegatron IPIEL-LA3 Memory 6.00 GB Hundai HMT125U6BFR8C-H9 Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4850 Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio/ATI High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Acer AL2216W Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard HP Keyboard Mouse HP Mouse PSU Unknown/installed by HP Case HP generic case Cooling Intel Stock Cooling Hard Drives Hitachi HDP725050GLA360 ATA Device 500 GB Internet Speed Download: 19.15 Mbps Upload: 1.67 Mbps Other Info Network Adapter Realtek RTL8168D/8111D Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)

7ystem restore isn't allowing me to hold up in Normal Mode anymore. I was thinking that I could download the ISO and the windows 7 USB Download Tool on another laptop and then hook it up to mine? Will that work? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Sony Vaio VGN-NW125J OS Windows 7 Home Premium v6.1, 64-bit CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6500 @ 2.10GHz 2.09 GHz |

If you are able to get the repair install to run on your system, that will work. Given the crashes, I cannot guarantee you will get far in the repair...
At any rate, I would still recommend backing up your important data before doing any steps. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion e9110t OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9550 @ 2.83GHz Motherboard Pegatron IPIEL-LA3 Memory 6.00 GB Hundai HMT125U6BFR8C-H9 Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4850 Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio/ATI High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Acer AL2216W Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard HP Keyboard Mouse HP Mouse PSU Unknown/installed by HP Case HP generic case Cooling Intel Stock Cooling Hard Drives Hitachi HDP725050GLA360 ATA Device 500 GB Internet Speed Download: 19.15 Mbps Upload: 1.67 Mbps Other Info Network Adapter Realtek RTL8168D/8111D Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)

I was able to get the system to hold up, and made the USB ISO... but when I was installing, I was notified that the Service Pack 1 was not installed . So I tried installing it through the automatic updates, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be downloading. Jeeze. Is there a way around this? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Sony Vaio VGN-NW125J OS Windows 7 Home Premium v6.1, 64-bit CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6500 @ 2.10GHz 2.09 GHz |
