BSOD when transferring files from memory cards or external hard drives

    Hi guys,

New to the forum so thank you in advance for any light you can shed on my problem.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L655-1EM laptop running windows 7 home premium 64bit. OEM came pre-installed. I've had the laptop about 6 months.

It works great but I seem to get the BSOD quite a lot. I noticed it only seems to happens when I'm using either of my external hard drives or SD cards. Usually when I am transferring a batch of large files between drives.

Any help you can offer in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello, Mark080.

First, welcome to Windows Seven Forums !

Second. On this moment, I will try with reinstalling drivers for card reader.
That drivers is free and you can download from Toshiba web site.

Maybe, you installed wrong drivers, not for your lapotop. You need exactly driver for your model of laptop.

Go here and download new : Download Windows 7 drivers:

Then uinstall old drivers and restart computer :
    1. Open Start Menu.
    2. Right click on Computer.
    3. Click on Properties.
    4. Open Task Manager (You need administrator privileges to edit drivers)
    5. Find your drivers and delete it.
    6. Close all windows, save your work, and restart your computer.

    Then :
    1. Run installation.
    2. Restart computer again.

    I think that should work.

    Trinty.

Step 4. should be: Open Device Manager (You need administrator privileges to edit drivers)

Just to avoid any confusion. :)
