Well, just got done with an overnight run for 8 hours and 27 minutes using this guide set for the CPU settings. Going to setup the "Ram & Chipset Test" from that guide and run that while I go to class today.
writhziden, when I stopped it just now I had different amounts of test for each core. Core 1:736, Core 2:757, Core 3:756, Core 4:762. I mean, the last three I can believe are within the margin of error, but Core 1 I just thought that was a little too far out of that margin even with windows in the background. I could be wrong.
Also, changing power management does nothing.

The first core is going to be the primary core used by the operating system. I suspect that is why you are seeing the lag, and it is likely nothing to be concerned with.
Well, it's been 12 days since I RMA'd my mobo and here I am again with the exact same problems. About to start a ticket for the CPU...
Well, I've seemed to fix the problem now. First off I'll start off by saying that I'd like to thank everybody for all their help in trying to figure this out. Next, it was/still is the power supply. It is an Antec TPQ-1200 with the stupid "PowerCache" capacitors inline with the permanently attached CPU and GPU lines. I remembered that I had some GPU cables left over from my TPQ-1000 that this one replaced so I decided to grab those and plugged them into the PSU and I can run OCCT's PSU stress test for 300 seconds, enough to convince me that it's fixed, and not have a problem.
Again, I'd like to thank everybody here that helped.
No problem. Glad you tracked down the likely culprit. Post back if you find a definitive solution, as well.
Well, I've been stress testing and gaming on it ever since so I think that's pretty definitive. Now watch that jinx and me be back tomorrow with more problems haha.
Best wishes that is not the case (you coming back tomorrow). Let us know how the system is responding in a few days. Once you are sure the problems is solved, you may mark the thread solved.
Well, no problems to date and I've been gaming pretty heavily. It's been running 24/7 since my last post. Guess this just means I'm eventually gonna need to get a new PSU when I go to upgrade GPUs. I'll probably be sticking with Antec, just none of their "PowerCache" crap.
