BSOD when Laptop attempts to go into sleep mode, error 0x0000009F

    - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64
    - the original installed OS on the system? Yes
    - an OEM or full retail version? OEM
    - What is the age of system (hardware)? 20 months
    - What is the age of OS installation 20 months

Been seeing DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE a lot recently. Seems to happen when the laptop tries to go into sleep mode. I recently updated the wireless and ethernet drivers, and the video card drivers, so I suspect one of them is the problem.

    Thanks for your help!

    Easy your Symantec.

Symantec is a frequent cause of BSOD's. I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials AT LEAST TO TEST

    Hi,

thanks for the response. I took your advice, uninstalled SEP and installed Microsoft AV, and unfortunately I'm still having the BSOD problem. I've attached updated diagnostic files.

Replacing the wifi driver seemed to fix the problem (I had already removed the SystemRequirementsLab software). Thank you so much for your help, jcgriff2, you are a lifesaver.

Also thanks zigzag3143 for the suggestion to use Microsoft AV - I've always hated Symantec, and am glad to be rid of it.

    Best,

I prefer MSE myself. No Semantic installed here!
