Clearing old WinDbg files

Lets say you want to rerun the jcgriff utility after you fix the BSOD to see the state of the system, but the old Dbg files are still being picked up.

How are old WinDbg files cleared after fixing the BSOD?

You mean the old minidumps? They should be present at the /Windows/Minidump directory.

A new member was having BSOD's.

We worked to re-stabilize his system, and after a few days I asked him to re-run the griff utility.

The report showed his first jcgriff report had the same .dbg files as a week or so ago, only the modifying date was different.

He is no longer having BSOD's

How can I clear the system to run a clean jcgriff report?

The dmp files may have copies sitting within subdirectories in the User directory. Have the person do a search for .dmp files in their C:/Users directory (provided C: is their main drive) and that should be able to catch em.

Thank you Vir!

I will suggest just that when I can get back to that other thread. That reminds me...I'll also have him check in C:\Program Files\Debugging Tools for Windows (x64), I looked, but I didn't find any logs for myself.

Nice Day! Here in Central Pa.! Been so busy out in the yard, I haven't had much time to even check the Forums.
