Windows 7: BSoD when screen saver trying to start

Ok, before doing a delete all, I am trying to repair it with original Windows DVD and the repair disc.

Update:
Did not erase the files / C: drive. Performed a start up repair. If I BSoD again, will update the dump file but please look at the new dump file earlier.

I have purged all old dump files and then when it BSD again, I get a new dump file - which is what I have included in the latest zipped file above. It should not show that I did not update the asus file and it should also show that I am no longer using McAfee.

Update May 9, 2012:
Installed the latest driver from Marvell's website dated March 2012! Asus's listed drivers are outdated!

How is the system responding with the new Marvell driver?

I have since reloaded Windows but before that, I can see a noticeable difference.

Good to see. Is your problem solved, or do you still need help?

Technically - no.

After reloading Windows 7 and updated ALL the drivers AGAIN, I still get BSoD twice

... before the BSoD's ... I noticed that two of my screens ( I have 4 screens ) were flickering immediately before the screen saver starts. Additionally, the BSoD only showed on 2 of screens which were flickering. The other 2 screens seems fine and was stuck on whatever I had on but no blue screen.

So I removed one of the video card (VisionTek Radeon HD 4850) which was hooked up to the ones with the blue screens and currently just on one video card and one screen. So far so good ... for the past 12 hours or so. Windows screen saver works without flickering.

Now loading Battlefield 3 so see if it BSoD and if not in the next couple of days, will install a new video card to go back to 4 screens.

I also bought a XFX R7770 Double Dissipation (GHz Edition) card yesterday while on sale.

I have a Asus P5Q-E motherboard with 8G Byte of RAM and an Intel Q6700 processor ... and a Corsair HX620W power supply in an extra large Antec case with fans.

My question is really, if it is indeed one of my old VisionTek graphics card failing (and causing all the BSoD even after a Windows reload), will the new graphics card going to work with the system? It probably needs a new driver from Radeon, etc. and takes up additional power?

Is your R7770 a dual card? It sounds like it probably is. Do you have a 600 W or greater power supply (recommend 700 W) to run it?

If the problem was a bad card, the new one should solve it. If the problem was your motherboard or an incompatibility with the two cards running together, you may continue to experience crashes. If you do continue to experience crashes, first, try a fresh install. If that does not resolve the problem, contact ASUS and AMD for further support steps or an RMA.

Thanks.

XFX just replied that my 620W supply should work.

I am testing it with the old VisionTek HD 4850 and just loaded Battlefield 3. Will push the limit and see if it crashs (to test out the motherboard + remaining graphics card) to see if there is a crash.

Is there a more "robust" test other than running a hard core game?

I do not game too much but Battlefield 3 does recommend HD6950 series from Radeon and will still work with my HD 4850 at a lower resolution. I am an old chap with no real intent to do a lot of gaming - and just using it to test.

Thanks again.

STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR troubleshooting has some good methods for testing graphics cards. It is the link we give for graphics card related crashes, but you can also use the hardware tests in there to diagnose your hardware even if you are not getting that crash.

I am downloading the latest FurMark

FurMark 1.10.1 Released - 3D Tech News and Pixel Hacking - Geeks3D.com

Sound about right as this is a later version than what was mentioned in the link in oZone3D.net.
