Random BSODs or General Slowness when ethernet under load
Firstly, english isn't my primary language, so, in advance, sorry for any mispellings
I've started building this computer 2 days ago, and after initial installation of OS, drivers and basic software, I noted that whenever I'm stressing the network adapter (until now, specifically with torrents), the computer all of a sudden gets really slow, even the system audio playing kinda sluggish, or the computer BSODs
the computer specs are:
Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H motherboard
core i7 2700k CPU
4x8GB corsair dominator 1600 RAM
MSI GeForce GTX 460 1GB GPU
550W Corsair PSU
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installed in a X25-M SSD
the motherboard, cpu and memory are brand new, got them this friday, all the other hardware are in average a year old, and I used all of them with my old computer without any problems.
I'm not doing any overclocking (as far as I know, at least, I'm still a little confused with EFI bios), and tried memory both at 1600Mhz (through XMP profile) and 1333Mhz, with 4 and 2 RAM sticks, installed all the drivers from the motherboard DVD and downloading them from the internet, and with the LAN drivers (an atheros AR8151 on-board), tried some newer drivers from another motherboard (since in gigabyte's page newer version for my mobo are 2.0.4.4, tried 2.0.14.15)
I also experimented disabling windows firewall, enabling/disabling other features like intel Smart Connect Technology, Smart Response, on-board graphics and other non-essentials.
Until now, this only happened with torrents, small ones (200, 300mb) and big ones (5, 6 gb), some times it's a matter of 2 to 3 minutes, and once or twice it took more than an hour for the problem to emerge. Also, this happens if I keep using the computer or only with uTorrent running.
Before making this thread, I watched movies on this computer, browsed and downloaded files via http (right now I have 10 or so tabs opened in browsers), and all seems fine.
I'm suspecting I got a bad motherboard, but wanted to be sure of that.
Thanks in advance for the attention and the help
