That is a common problem since XP, and I have yet to see it resolved. When explorer crashes, system icons tend to disappear and do not come back. The question is: Why is explorer crashing? It must be doing so frequently enough to cause you frustration with this problem, so we should try to determine why explorer is crashing and resolve that issue.

Before you proceed with the following, answer these two questions: Are you still under warranty? Does your warranty allow you to open up the machine to check hardware? If you are unsure of the answers to these questions, contact your system manufacturer. WARNING: The steps that follow can void your warranty!!!

The warning only applies to steps 8, 10, &11.

now it seems that from over the 5000 events i have this are the most common ones and looks like its the source of the problem . How can i fix this ? Should i re install windows all over again ?

oh , and the ID number is 1000.

    Thanks for the time :)

Hard to say whether the above is a system problem or just a problem due to some conflict. We will need more information. Continue through the steps in the tutorial I gave and post back if the errors are abated and problems stop.
