Random BSOD's while doing literally anything
Hi guys, this is my first post here so I'll just try and get to the point.
I built my PC about a year ago, everything is still under warranty pretty much. These are the specs
-Core i7 920
-Asus P6T SE
-Gigabyte gtx 460 OC
-OCZ gold 1333mhz 1.65V DDR3 ram (3 x 2GB)
-Asus xonar DS sound card/Realtek HD audio (ill explain this later in the post)
-2 SATA II HDD's (1 x 250GB and 1 x 500GB, more info availible if needed)
-LG DVD Drive
-Xigmatek 500W psu
-Titan fenrir CPU cooler
-Windows 7 64 bit retail
-Logitech G11 keyboard
-Razer abyssus mouse
-BenQ G2220HD monitor
-Tritton PC510 HDA/Roccat Kave headphones (again ill explain this later)
Now that I got that out of the way. I'd say I'm an amateur PC enthusiast, I've had this PC for some time, it's had its ups and downs which I've searched my way through but I am really struggling to pinpoint the Blue screens.
The dumps during April and May are the ones worth considering after which i made some changes and switched around hardware
I usually get these blue screen's while I'm gaming, browsing the internet, hell my PC could be idle doing absolutely nothing and it will BSOD (I'm not even at the chair).
I reinstalled my OS not too long ago as i thought that might be the problem, i had driver verifier on for some time to try and get some good 'revealing' dumps but the situation did not help in my eyes. I then thought its my headphones (roccat kave's) so i got a pair of tritton's and the issue continued.
The next thing i tried was removing my asus xonar to see if that changed anything, no help from that one. I've tried overclocking to resolve the issue since it may have been a voltage problem, that didnt work. I tried the stock clocks for my GTX 460 to see if that helps, nope not fixed.
These are the tests i have run so far and the problem area's that i found are mentioned with them
-Memtest86 (tested all 3 sticks of ram individually, no errors so i didnt bother testing the other 3 slots)
-OCCT power supply test (this was a problem, it ran for 10 mins then it just said error detected and test stopped)
-CHKDSK (if this counts as a test there were no problems)
-Prime 95 (no crashes i believe, cant remember the settings i had on this one though sorry)
I ran a GPU test through OCCT too and that didnt cause a BSOD. I've also noticed during gaming I'll get a 'general protection fault' error and they'll close (happened on APB reloaded and blacklight retribution) if thats relevant to you guys
Thank's for reading my post, i tried to space it out so you dont get lost in the tons of information. I attached the OCCT PSU test graph things, the system health report and the dumps.
P.s i also tried disabling virtual clonedrive and NVIDIA hd audio stuff but that didnt help.
P.P.S cmudaxp.sys bsods are from when i had my sound card in
Updates- Ill post any updates so you dont have to go through responses
1.) The sound drivers are up to date, realtek couldnt provide any newer ones, same goes for the asus xonar ones, i even tried the unixonar custom drivers. Im on 301.34 drivers for nvidia, ive tried rolling back to previous drivers but that doesnt help my situation
2.) Temperatures and voltages under stress and normal on page 1. Prime 95 has hardware failures after some time < 30 mins
3.) Different PCI-E/ram slots tested, reseating CPU and cooler has been done. OS reboots done
4.) VMT test is clear, no errors, intel processor diagnostic thingy pass too (log on page 2). furmark 10 min pass
5.) Intel burn test failed after 2 passes, screenshot on page 3
