Windows made corrections to the file system. Run the disk check again. You should search for wininit; chkdsk often does not work and wininit does.

Alright, good news, and nice work. Post back after you run SeaTools and whether the tests pass.

just thought i need to share some more information with you, i just looked and my bios it's out of date.. its about a year old now from may of last year.. i also have had some other problems with my computer like sometimes i can be watching something on youtube and the screen goes black and the sound will cut out then it will restart my pc, and then says windows has recovered from a serious error, other times my screen goes a grey or orange ish color for no reason at all.. i tested it with another monitor and it did the same so i know its not the monitor thats going bust, I'm pretty sure my video card is the issue.

Could be the video card. Check what BIOS updates are available as well. See if any indicate stability increase, display card support, or memory/CPU support... Actually, I can do this for you. There are a number of stability increase updates and memory compatibility improvements. I would recommend updating to Version 1003 for your BIOS. ASUS - Motherboards- ASUS M5A78L/USB3

cheers mate, i just downloaded that and when i Run the file BUPDATER.EXE it comes up with this error message...

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows your running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64b-it) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.
